Charice on Glee: Pinoy Gleeks have another reason to rejoice!

Reason 1: Glee season 2 is airing in a little less than 2 weeks!

Reason 2: the Filipino international bite-sized superstar Charice Pempengco will be in it!

Well, whether or not you're rejoicing over Charice Pempengco gaining a role in Glee depends if you're a fan of her or not (and we know someone isn't). We know that she can sing, but can she act as well? Regardless, it's still a major major (channeling Venus Raj much?) thing to have a born and bred Filipina acting and singing (as a recurring character) in a highly acclaimed international TV series.

Formerly a YouTube sensation, she reached international somewhat-stardom when she was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and subsequently endorsed by Oprah herself. Since then Charice has been touring worldwide, she's reached the #1 position on the Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs for Pyramid, a collaboration song with artist Iyaz, and news has been buzzing about Charice's Botox injection.
Charice Pempengco will be belting it out on Glee as Sunshine Corazon, a filipino exchange student and rival of the show's lead, Rachel Berry (played by Lea Michele).

No Rain?: Korean Superstar Rain fails to show up at presscon

At these times of heavy rainshowers, thunderstorms, and flood, one would think that a short break from the rain would be celebrated. However, when Korean Pop Idol Jung Ji-Hoon, or more popularly known to the world as Rain, failed to show up at his own presscon fans and mediamen were sorely disappointed. Maybe he was just a little bit shy?

The event organizers cancelled the press conference last minute and moved the date to Thursday. Rumors went wild as to what happened to the korean singing sensation. A couple of onlookers spotted him showing off his hot bod swimming at the hotel's pool during the supposed time of the presscon. If I had my way, I'd have made him go in his swimming trunks.

Rain's spokesperson clarified that there was a misunderstanding between them and the event organizers, stating that the press conference was supposed to be on the September 9 and not on September 6. After all, the numbers 6 and 9 look so much alike.

The press conference was held in order to promote Rain's concert, "Intensity" on Saturday at the SM Concert Grounds, where he will be joined by the popular korean band U-Kiss and Filipino heart-throb (though possibly gay) singer Christian Bautista. This concert is special for Rain as it will be his last concert before going into the South Korean Military Service.
